Responsible for the alarm monitoring and IP/IUb verification from the RNC to the Node B equipment. Software upgrade of the RNC to the Node B remotely. Troubleshooting fault managements on the Nokia RNC application, Launcher and using the RAS5 and 6 and RU10 for the IP base. Responsible for recording the alarm logs of the RNC for further use in the investigation of problems. Responsible for creating scripts during real time upgrade of Node B (3g) network. Responsible for monitoring the status of the cell sites, checking the low noise and high noise of the network and also the traffic call status and drop call of the network. Providing coordination and support to field engineers during the commissioning and integration process. Tasks also includes progress reporting & coordinating of daily Node B and RNC upgrade and alarm status.
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Telecommunications Engineering or related field such as Electronics Engineering or Telecommunications Technology. Two (2) years of hands-on experience in UMTS field engineering or in Optimization Engineering. Requires experience/knowledge in GSM/UMTS technology platforms; Antenna systems, use of various telecommunications field test equipment such as TEMS, Protocol and Frequency Analyzer, Site Master and T1 tester. Extensive travel.
