Responsible for providing GSM/UMTS Field Equipment expertise.  3 openings available.

Duties include the provision of technical support for the operation and maintenance of NSN UMTS Network.

Technical support includes providing field expertise for the commissioning, integration and testing of Nortel and NSN GSM/UMTS equipment during field deployment. Alarm identification and troubleshoot of Nortel S8000/S12000 and Nokia UMTS Flexi BTS equipment.

Duties also include site inspection and quality audit of deployed GSM/UMTS equipment, antenna setting verification using Andrew ATC2000 and RFS RET2022 software, T1 testing and troubleshooting and feeder sweep testing; functional call testing of circuit and packet switch; SMS and Handover testing.

This position requires nationwide travel to client locations.

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Telecommunications Engineering or related field such as Electronics Engineering or Telecommunications Technology is required.

A minimum of two (2) years of hands-on experience in UMTS field engineering or in Optimization Engineering.

Requires experience/knowledge in GSM/UMTS technology platforms; Antenna systems, use of various telecommunications field test equipment such as TEMS, Protocol and Frequency Analyzer, Site Master and T1 tester. Extensive travel required.
